On this page I will be posting flash fiction for free.
What is flash fiction you ask? Flash fiction are short-short stories. The word count varies but it seems to be accepted that any story under 1000 words is flash fiction. Beyond that there doesn’t appear to be any concrete criteria other than that it is a contained story.
I make no claims for great works of literature here. Just enjoy it for what it is.

How long had it been?
Geary looked at his suit’s info screen, the figures had reset and were blinking a string of green zeroes. Had that happened the moment they stepped on this rotting hulk? He couldn’t remember. His guts ached. They hadn’t eaten in days.
Jakubowski was sitting cross legged in his underpants as usual. He had discarded his suit some time ago. (read more)

The Nexus
The ship came to a halt and listed to one side. It had left a scar two miles long in the dry earth behind it. She hadn’t been built for planetfall. But this was a one way trip.
Byron unhooked himself from his chair in the cockpit. The viewing port had held up but the external cameras were shot. He turned on the scanner. The nexus was near. Just a short walk and it would all be fixed. ( read more )
